On a dreary Monday morning, the Orea family set up camp in front of Ramsey Library, one of the designated free speech zones on campus. The family was here to spread their beliefs using a street preaching method. UNC Asheville students gathered around them, engaging in conversation and protest.

NC Dreamers affected by Trump’s DACA rescission

Donald Trump wants to deport all undocumented people in the United States. More than 800,000 of these people are Dreamers, undocumented individuals who either came to the U.S. very young or were born here and have received DACA grants that allow them to stay and work and attend college. With Trump’s rescission of this DACA program, these Dreamers face deportation from the only home they’ve ever known.
