Students create art with international influences

After a recent study abroad trip to London, Paris and Berlin through the new media department, a group of UNC Asheville students created artwork inspired by the experience to display in an exhibition titled But First Some Rebellion. The exhibition ran from Oct. 23 to Nov. 14 on the second-floor lobby of Zeis Hall.

Alumnus art piece initiates conversation about the sanctity of religious images

A piece of student art was criticized for its portrayal of the Virgin Mary. Although the piece was misconstrued as it actually portrays Saint Gudula, Patroness of Brussels, the initial complaint raises a deeper conversation about the interpretation of images.
