Michael E. Gouge – Faculty adviser and Senior Lecturer – Michael E. Gouge is a UNC Asheville alumnus with several decades of professional experience as a writer, editor and photographer at various newspapers and magazines. In addition to teaching in the Mass Communication Department, he’s the editor-in-chief of Blue Ridge Motorcycling Magazine, a glossy travel & leisure quarterly.

Brayden Giffin – Co-Editor  – [email protected] – Brayden is a senior studying Mass Communication. Their work focuses on ecology, plants and animals. Aside from journalistic work, Brayden loves crocheting, playing video games and hanging out with cats.

Pearl Powell – Co-Editor – [email protected] – Pearl is a senior studying Mass Communication with a minor in Sociology. Their work involves creative works and news about the community. Aside from her love for reading and writing, she loves antiquing, going for walks and trying new places around Asheville.

Emily Moosbrugger – Editor-at-large – [email protected]  –  Emily Moosbrugger is a senior at UNCA majoring in Mass Communication. In addition to editing for the Blue Banner she enjoys playing music, going for walks and reading.

Isabel Richardson – Sports Editor – [email protected] – Isabel is a junior majoring in Mass Communication with a minor in Professional Writing and Rhetoric. Isabel’s main hobby is running as part of the UNCA Cross Country/Track and Field team. Her free time apart from running and school is usually spent reading, spending quality time with friends or listening to comedy podcasts.

Fiona Carlone – Photography Editor – [email protected] – Fiona Carlone is a senior Mass Communication major and Art minor at UNC Asheville. Fiona loves to spend her free time dancing, exploring new music and creating photographic art.
