While April is known for its showers, the best remedy to boredom caused from being stuck inside is to watch movies. Don’t know what to watch? Here is a few anticipated films coming out to look forward to for a rainy day.
The most anticipated movies– in my opinion– are “The Drama,” “Normal,” “Fuze” and “Pizza Movie.”
“The Drama”

Starring Zendaya as Emma Harwood, a bookstore clerk from Louisiana, and Robert Pattinson as Charlie Thompson, a British museum director from London, this movie seems packed with humor, love and betrayal.
Directed by Krisoffer Borgli in only his fourth film, A24 schemed up a great marketing campaign for this rom-com thriller.
Using The Boston Globe’s daily “TV Critic’s Corner” to advertise alongside their romance advice column “Love Letters,” a follow-up announcement the next day and a teaser trailer the day after that, the film garnered lots of attention on social media.
A24 is arguably known for its psychological thrillers, unconventional dramas and intimate dramas. “The Drama” seems to be a three-way between genres.
Honestly, even after watching the trailer and reading up on the film, I have no clue what to expect for the thriller aspect of the film, which honestly intrigues me more than most trailers do. I hate when a trailer gives away every aspect of the plot.
“The Drama” is set to be released in theatres on April 3.
“Fuze”

Premiering at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, releasing in theatres in the U.K. on April 3, this upcoming British crime thriller heist is set to be released in the U.S. on April 24.
Starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Theo James, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Sam Worthington, a jewelry heist takes place under the ultimate distraction– a World War II bomb discovery in central London.
Taylor-Johnson plays Major Will Tranter, who is sent to diffuse the bomb, while Karalis (James), an expert bank robber, and his team hide away and wait amidst the chaos for the chance to pull off their audacious heist.
This film appears action-packed based on the trailer and any excuse to see Theo James on screen is enough for me to want to see it. Been a huge fan of his since “Divergent” and I am very glad to see him in more things lately.
Director David Mackenzie teamed up with cinematographer Giles Nuttgens for their sixth film together, having both worked on notable films such as “Hell or High Water” and “Asylum” (2005).
“Normal”

Set in Minnesota, Ulysses– portrayed by Bob Odenkirk– comes to the small town of Normal to serve as the temporary sheriff after their sheriff passes. After a bank robbery, Ulysses finds there is a criminal underground that reaches throughout the entire town.
Despite its 2025 premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, the film is finally set to release in the U.S. on April 17.
The film was written by Derek Kolstad (“The Package,” “John Wick” and “Nobody”), who previously worked with Odenkirk on “Nobody.” After discussing the upcoming script he made back in 2021, Odenkirk and Kolstad decided this small-town action film would be a great collaboration.
While the original script had action, it also contained a Hitchcockian style with crime-thriller and mystery elements; the two worked together to further develop the story into its final screenplay.
Odenkirk is known for portraying Saul Goodman in “Breaking Bad” and Jimmy McGill in its spin-off “Better Call Saul,” along with many supporting characters in films such as “Little Women” and writing for “Saturday Night Live.” After working with Kolstad, though, he seems to be breaking into the action genre rather than just the drama and thriller genres he is known for.
“Pizza Movie”

This Hulu original comedy film stars Gaten Matarazzo and Sean Giambrone as college roommates who take a special drug called “M.I.N.T.S.,” where the only way to combat the terrifying, hallucinogenic high is to eat pizza.
I thought this movie was going to be like a children’s movie based on the name, so I was hesitant to include it, but after watching the trailer, my interest has been piqued and my mind has been changed.
Other actors starring in the movie include: Lulu Wilson (“Annabelle: Creation) as Lizzy, Peyton Elizabeth Lee (“Andi Mack”) as Ashley, Marcus Scribner (“Black-ish”) as Logan and Daniel Radcliffe (“Harry Potter”) voicing the butterfly.
Honestly, a pretty good cast for a film I had very low expectations on before watching the trailer.
Attempting to secure their pizza delivered by drone, the duo (and others) must navigate through their highs as crazy hallucinations alter their sense of reality.
This trippy comedy is to be released on Hulu on April 3 after its South by Southwest premiere on March 13.
