As Greenfest commences at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, a Sustainability Fair was hosted Tuesday, Oct. 14, in front of Highsmith.
Greenfest is a bi-annual event held at the university which promotes environmental sustainability, with the Sustainability Fair giving the opportunity for organizations both on campus and in the Asheville community to present themselves to students. This year, Greenfest is being held from Oct. 13, to Oct. 19.
Organizations that were present include UNC Asheville Food Equity Initiative, UNC Asheville Student Government Association and the UNC Asheville Student Action Coalition among others. Organizations handed out flyers and spoke to students, educating them about the purpose of their club and how to get involved.
Organizations from the greater Asheville community including the WNC Sierra Club, French Broad River Metropolitan Planning Organization and Save the Woods were present.
