The Asheville City Soccer Club advances to the second round of the U.S. Open Cup following their 3-1 cupset of the Greenville Triumph on Wednesday.
Asheville City’s cupset was led by two second-half goals. This included a goal from Ben Assane Fall at the end of the second half.
Evan Southern and Ashton Bilow also contributed goals to Asheville City. Greenville scored a goal in the first half from Devin Boyce on a set piece.
Asheville City advances to the second round of the U.S. Open Cup with this victory. Asheville City will host One Knoxville in the second round of the U.S. Open Cup on Mar. 31 at 7 p.m. at Greenwood Field.
